Success in Math starts in the 7th grade when the majority of new math concepts are introduced.

Software programs such as Freckle are a big help but often provide students with activities and questions that are not related to the standard the teacher has assigned to them for practice, leaving students, parents, and teachers confused and frustrated.

I have developed a 7th grade Math workbook to help your students learn and achieve higher scores on their benchmark, classroom, district, and end-of-the-year state assessments.

Other student workbooks from companies like I-Ready come in 2 volumes with nearly 1000 pages of material for students to read.  Any math teacher knows that most students will never make it through 1000 pages of math before state test time.  In addition, units and lessons are not aligned to district or teacher pacing guides or in the order that teachers typically teach standards based on prerequisites.  Information relative to standards is hard to locate and some standards are not included at all.  There are few examples for students, teachers, and parents to follow, and grading work from these workbooks is a nightmare.  Clearly not written by teachers for teachers and students.

This workbook is designed to provide students with lessons, examples, and practice problems, along with references to free online video tutorials and free practice test problems, and references to free online test prep and practice resources.  Students get much-needed instruction, then get to further their understanding with practice.  Unlike companies with hidden fees and subscriptions that promise to help students improve but do little for your dollar, this book is written by a licensed and experienced educator in middle school math with proven methods, so students get exactly what they need at an affordable and reasonable price with no hidden fees or subscriptions.

Many workbooks only offer practice problems with no examples or standards referenced and are also typically not aligned to current pacing guides which shows a lack of knowledge of teaching and assessment.  However, they are colorful if parents want their 7th graders to look at pretty pictures and artwork.  But if parents want straight-to-the-point facts and practice activities, choose my workbook and watch your students do better in 7th-grade math.
